Diamond Peak Ski Resort is great for beginners and is located above Incline Village. It offers breathtaking views of Lake Tahoe and offers easy access to Cedar Glen Lodge. The runs are uncrowded and it has a dedicated child ski center. This is also a great location for snowboard lessons. Child weekday lift tickets are $39 and Adult weekday lift tickets are $89.
Uncrowded Family Fun
Donner Ski Ranch is located in Norden off Highway 80. This is another excellent location for beginners with more than 500 acres of easy runs. It has a fully equipped retail shop and also offers lessons. For more advanced riders, you can find tree skiing and some steep terrain. This ski area is also not as crowded which means less time standing in line and more fun skiing! Child weekday lift tickets are $35 and adult weekday lift tickets are $89.
Skiing with the Best Views of Lake Tahoe
Homewood Mountain Resort is located on the West shore of Lake Tahoe and has incredible views of the Lake. This is another great beginner ski area and boasts a signature 2 mile run with the areas most amazing panoramic views. This is a very charming resort and the perfect place for kid’s ski lessons. While this is a smaller resort, it offers many different beginner and intermediate runs. Child weekday lift tickets are $49 and adult weekday lift tickets are $109.
Best Ski Resort for Children’s Lessons
Tahoe Donner Downhill Ski Resort offers a great family ski experience. This is an excellent beginner ski area and they have many ski instructors that can work one and one with you or your child. Kids as young as 3 years old can get instruction. The best part of this ski area is a kid friendly menu in their cafeteria! The terrain is uncrowded with gentle terrain and a magic carpet conveyor belt for beginners who won’t need to get on and off ski chairs. Child weekday lift tickets are $39 and adult weekday lift tickets are $69.
