The Farmer’s Markets that come seasonally to Lake Tahoe offer the perfect place to find fresh fruit, artisan cheeses, organic meats and beautiful floral bouquets. Cedar Glen Lodge is proud to be an eco-friendly resort. We support our local community and encourage our guests to buy from our local artists and farmers. When you buy local, the food is fresh. All of the vendors are located in the Sierra Foothills.
Organic Meats and Artisan Cheeses
You will find several vintners at our local Farmers’ Markets. Pair these delicious wines with artisan cheeses such as creamy Bries and Swiss Gruyères. All of our local farmers use organic methods to grow their produce and to raise livestock. There are benefits to both the body and to the environment when you choose organic foods. Over the years, many local stores have begun selling organic and gluten free foods. However, there is nothing like going straight to the farmer!
Natural Ripened Produce
Buy vine ripened vegetables and fruits picked the day before the farmers’ drive to Lake Tahoe. Unlike the produce found in the grocery stores, which have gone through refrigeration, there is a distinct freshness and flavor when buying at the Farmers’ Market. Heirloom tomatoes have been grown from seeds that have been cultivated to perfection. You will find a variety of delicious peaches, berries, and fruits that are flavorful and juicy. Allowing nature to ripen produce naturally and without chemicals makes all the difference in the world.
Hand Picked Floral Bouquets
The floral bouquets in the grocery store have gone through a chemical process and refrigeration. The fresh picked wild flowers found at farmers’ markets are picked in the morning. Each are dressed with aromatic herbs that are also organic and natural. Some are dressed with rosemary sprigs, basil bunches or lavender. These aromatic bouquets are the perfect decoration for your stay at Cedar Glen Lodge.
