July is here and we have officially begun our summer season in Lake Tahoe! We could not be more excited to be out enjoying this warm summer weather! We are ready to share some summer memories with you, and we have our pool heated and waiting for your arrival, as well as our sauna and spa! The picnic area is lush and green and set with tables and BBQ pits right next to our fire pit. Don’t miss the free s’mores at sunset! If you don’t feel like grilling your dinner, join us at our onsite restaurant, The Rustic Lounge for a sophisticated night out just steps away from your room! Also a short walk from your door, a beautiful white sand beach right across the street, perfect for dipping into the sapphire water we are so lucky to have here in Tahoe! Other amenities include our Tesla and universal charging station, volleyball/badminton, mini golf & ping-pong for those fiery family tournaments!
Where to begin with all that Tahoe has to offer this season? There truly is something for everyone to enjoy at this time of year, whether you want to get out on the crystal clear water, go hiking in the mountains, experience the beauty of the area by bicycle, have a beach day at Sand Harbor, tour around the lake by boat, parasail to get the best view of the North Shore —or all of the above!!!
For the hikers out there, one of our all-time favorites is experiencing the Tahoe Rim Trail. Even if you are not up to hiking all 162-miles of it, not to worry, there are many options to experience shorter portions of it. Check out their website to start planning a spectacular day of hiking one of the country’s most beautiful trails! Cedar Glen Lodge is proud to sponsor this trail, and cannot recommend it highly enough! We’ll send you off in the morning with a complimentary continental breakfast to get you going too!
July 3rd: Kicking off the summer, and in early celebration of Independence Day, come join us in Kings Beach for the 37th annual fireworks and beach party! Fun for the whole family, there will be fireworks, sand castle building contests, food vendors, and a beer and wine garden.
In addition to all the activities there are many outdoor festivals to check out this summer, here’s a few of our favorites:
July 8-August 21: Cedar Glen Lodge is also very proud to sponsor The Shakespeare Festival which takes place in one of the most beautiful venues there is—the theater at picturesque Sand Harbor. This year they are presenting A Comedy of Errors, as well as the musical Forever Plaid. This festival makes for a wonderful evening of entertainment under the stars! Please visit their website for all the details:
July 9: Waterman’s Paddle Jam in Carnelian Bay is part of the Tahoe Cup Paddle Racing Series, and is a six-mile SUP race designed to engage participants of all ability levels. Followed by a child-friendly race, this makes for an exciting day on the water in which the entire family can take part in!
July 14-17: The Wanderlust Festival in Squaw Valley, is a great way to nourish mind, body, and soul in the Tahoe Basin this summer! A four-day celebration of healthy living, this festival is chock full of inspiration– from yoga and meditation classes, to organic food, lectures, music and much more!
July 26-August 13: Last, but certainly not least, for the classical music lovers out there, Classical Tahoe is not to be missed. Taking place in Incline Village, this concert series brings some of America’s most talented musicians to the lake. Please visit their website to view this year’s extraordinary line up of classical music.
We hope to see you at the lake this summer!
