Summer is in full swing here in the Tahoe basin, and we are loving life at Cedar Glen Lodge! We are getting a little spoiled with these perfectly warm beach days and clear, crisp evenings that are perfect for making new friends over s’mores by the fire pit. The month of July brought us so many wonderful guests, it’s been such a pleasure to share the beauty of the area with so many people, and we are looking forward to more of the same in August. Won’t you come join us?
We have everything ready and waiting for you to make the most of your summer vacation by the lake. We’ve got beach chairs and towels, as well as coolers to load up and take across the street to enjoy a day at one of the best beaches on the lake! Or, if you prefer, spend a day relaxing by our outdoor heated pool and hot tub! All the gear is set and waiting at our ping pong table, volleyball/badminton court and putting green. Don’t forget we have a beautiful picnic area with grills available for you to enjoy a friends and family barbecue by the lake. Of course, there is never any need to venture far to have fun with all of our outdoor amenities, but if you are in the mood for exploration, our knowledgeable staff is always happy to offer suggestions and point you in the right direction to make the most of your time in this spectacular summer playground that is Lake Tahoe!
We’ve got breakfast covered for you with a complimentary spread of pastries, breads, fresh fruits, and cereals to get you going in the morning! Then in the evening be sure to dine with us at our award-winning restaurant The Rustic Lounge, or join us for a glass of wine in our beautiful wine bar overlooking the lake! Just remember, that we strongly encourage you to call in advance to make reservations as we have a very small dining room, and we do want to make sure you get a chance to experience the culinary talents of our chefs for yourselves.
For those of you who drive electric cars, don’t forget we have a Tesla and Universal charger stations on our property for your convenience!

Cedar Glen Lodge is a proud supporter of the Lake Tahoe Shakespeare Festival which runs through August 21st. This festival is a favorite for locals and visitors alike and takes place at picturesque Sand harbor. Visit their website for tickets and treat yourself to a night of theater under the stars in a uniquely beautiful venue!
On August 13-14 there is the Brews, Jazz and Funk Festival in Squaw Valley, which is a favorite for those who want to take in some great music, sample some quality craft beer in the picturesque Squaw Valley all while benefiting the Tahoe-Truckee Humane Society. A worthwhile cause, and a fun weekend all in one.
Taking place August 12-13 in the lovely town of Homewood there is the Concours d’Elegance Wooden Boat Show. A popular showcase of stunning wooden boats, a must for those who appreciate the fine craftsmanship of some of the nation’s most beautiful boats.
On August 19-21 Tahoe City will host the Pacific Fine Arts Festival, featuring over 45 artisans and craftspeople from all over California. A great way for the art-lover in you to meet and be inspired by a diverse array of artists, representing many art forms.
On August 27th and for those of you have four-legged members of your family Peaks and Paws Festival in Squaw Valley is well worth a visit! Benefiting the Truckee-Tahoe Humane Society this is a full day of activities, music, and food for humans and canines alike!
For the athletes amongst us there are a few events happening this month that may pique your interest:
On August 20th taking place in Incline Village there are two popular race events–the Big Blue 5K and 10K as well at the Xterra. Both of these events are sure to challenge as well as inspire by taking place in one of the most picturesque areas of the lake.
On August 21st there is the Marlette 50K and 10 Miler event which is based in the scenic Spooner backcountry, and rewards its participants with some of the country’s most scenic and challenging trails.
